Warrick Hazeldine
Director

As co-founding Director of Purple Communications, Warrick has extensive experience in investor, media and stakeholder relations. He has provided clients in the public and private sector with strategic communications advice for more than ten years.

Specialising in corporate consulting and capital market positioning to the resources industry, Warrick has serviced many of Australia’s leading mid tier and Top 200 companies in the Australasian, Canadian, African, UAE and London markets. He has been at the forefront of recent M&A transactions, actively defending a hostile takeover target, and providing strategic communications advice to a client in an attempted A$1 billion acquisition in 2007.

Warrick also provides communication advice to clients in the finance, property and government sectors. Through a long standing relationship, he has worked in house at a top-tier accounting firm, providing strategic business development and media relations advice. He has provided local and state government advice in respect to major land redevelopments and infrastructure projects.

Warrick has worked as a consultant with leading Western Australian public relations consultancies, has been member of the Old Haleian’s Association and is a proud supporter of the Children's Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation through the Pedalling Penguin Appeal.

Ryan McKinlay
Associate Director

Ryan McKinlay has ten year’s communication experience, including five years in senior corporate affairs positions.

He has previously worked with AWB Limited based in Melbourne, where he was directly involved in media and stakeholder relations, working at the Board and CEO level on a range of acquisitions and issues Ryan also has established media relations and stakeholder advocacy skills, and extensive corporate writing experience for media and investor audiences.

Ryan was an awarded journalist and group editor for Rural Press Limited, based in Brisbane and Perth, and retains an extensive media network throughout Australia.

Caroline Thomson 
Associate Director 

Caroline Thomson is an experienced communications consultant, with particular skills in strategy development and implementation. Prior to joining Purple she worked both in-house and as a consultant and has extensive experience in media liaison and both online and off-line publications management.

Caroline has been responsible for a number of stakeholder, community and employee relations campaigns across a wide range of industries including education, resources and property.

She is a full member of the PRIA and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communications) in Public Relations and Journalism.

Caroline de Mori

Senior Counsel

Caroline de Mori is a public relations, corporate communications and strategic stakeholder communication manager with more than 25 years experience.

Caroline has worked as a journalist, author and public relations consultant to some of Western Australia’s biggest private companies and the State Government. As a journalist, she trained and worked for The West Australian and South West Times newspapers, Channel 9 Perth and published articles in Business Review Weekly .

After a number of years working as a public relations consultant she established her own company in 1991. This company, ultimately known as Porter Novelli, became one of WA’s leading corporate relations consultancies based in Perth. Caroline sold her equity in Porter Novelli in 2002.

In recent years she has been employed by a wide range of listed and private companies, government and communities responsible for creating and implementing wide-ranging stakeholder communications programs for many private companies and government departments.

She was awarded the Public Relations Institute of Australia Investor Relations (PRIA) award in 2000 for her work with Western Metals Limited. She remains a full member of the PRIA.

George Bray
Senior Consultant

George Bray has been extensively involved in state, local and federal government activity, as well as private sector activity. George has successfully developed and implemented policy in difficult political environments while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Recently, George was involved in the review of the Liquor Licensing Act in Western Australia in association with two other panel members; the coordination of all statutory approvals for a wood chip storage facility at the Port of Albany in Western Australia; and successful town planning appeals for plantation developments in the Shire of Augusta - Margaret River in Western Australia.  

Amanda Reid
Senior Consultant

Amanda Reid has more than ten year’s communication experience, including four years in a senior communications position with the State Government.

She has previously worked as a journalist and has spent the last eight years working for various Ministers and Members of Parliament in both the State and Federal Government arena, including Health Minister Jim McGinty and former Premier Geoff Gallop.

Amanda has extensive experience in strategic planning, communications strategies, campaigning and the workings of government.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) in Politics and Journalism.

Annette Ellis

Senior Consultant

 

Annette Ellis is a public relations, corporate communications and strategic stakeholder communications manager, with 15 years experience gained primarily in the global resources and logistics sectors.

Annette has worked for some of the world’s biggest resources brands during the course of her career.  In recent years, Annette started her own successful communications agency in South Africa, providing strategic communication services to a broad range of clients.

Annette has won a number of public affairs awards.  She holds qualifications in Public Relations and Organisational Communication and is currently completing an MSc (Marketing).  Annette is a past Executive Member of the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa, and has held a number of board positions on community-based, not-for-profit organisations.

Renee Wilkinson
Senior Consultant

Renée Wilkinson has more than ten year’s experience developing and implementing communications, community relations and issues management strategies.

Renée has held several in-house communications positions for government departments in Western Australia and the United Kingdom and for Health Minister Jim McGinty.

Her work on the Boronia Prison development in Bentley earned a Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) Community Relations award in 2005. 

 

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Public Relations and Marketing).

Amanda Kerr
Online Consultant

Amanda Kerr is experienced in multimedia, website design and online communication. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Multimedia Design and Information Systems. Amanda has successfully built a number of websites for corporate and not-for-profit organisations.

She has maintained a high distinction average throughout her studies and awarded with Murdoch University’s Vice Chancellors Award for Academic Excellence in 2005 and 2006.

Amanda is proficient in the Adobe Suite, Corel Draw, Lightwave and the Microsoft Office suite. 

Rebecca Frost

Associate Consultant

 

Rebecca joined Purple in 2008. Rebecca’s public relations experience includes roles as both Media/PR Coordinator and Production Coordinator for a national television programme on the Channel 9 network. This involved the coordination and scheduling of production nationwide as well as all Media/PR activities associated. Rebecca also has experience in projects and events coordination and website administration. She has written for both national and regional publications as well as contributing to the development of various corporate publications and marketing strategies. 

 

Rebecca has a Bachelor of Mass Communication from Curtin University where she studied Internet Policy and Culture/Design and Film and Television. She also holds Diploma’s in both Public Relations and Mass Communication.

 

Kate Dzienis

Office Administrator

 

Kate joined the Purple team in October 2008. With a specific focus on media monitoring and distribution, her role as Office Administrator includes the management of company databases, updating the Purple website, assisting with accounts and maintaining office systems.

Prior to beginning her role, Kate worked as a broadcast team leader with Media Monitors for over six years, and has been a volunteer PR coordinator for an animal welfare charity based in Hong Kong and Australia for three years.

Already having a Bachelor of Communications in Media Studies, Kate has recently successfully completed a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Curtin University. She is a member of PRIA.
